Matthew McKenzie is the principal of Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre, a regional school nestled in the Eucalypt forests north of Armidale. Here Matthew chats with Dr James O’Hanlon on the In Situ Science podcast about what its like working in an environmental education centre, and how his passion for the environment led him to getting involved in the Tiny Gardeners Project.
After a beginning his career as a primary school teacher Matthew followed his passion for the environment and began working in Environmental Education Centres. The Thalgarrah EEC is part of a state wide network of government run schools that provide outdoor and environmental learning experiences to students in their local area.
